1832

Theophile Vaché leaves France for California and establishes one of the first vineyards in the Vineyard District of San Benito. We still make some wine from the original vineyard.

1847

Theophile’s nephews, Aldolfe, Emile, and Theophile, join him and together they found a wine-importing business in downtown Los Angeles, California.

1892

The nephews moved to Redlands, bought land next to a picturesque stream, and Brookside Winery is born. That year, my great-grandfather, Marius Biane, arrived from France and was hired to work for the Vaché family.

1952

Brookside Winery purchases Segundo Gusti's 4,000 acres of vineyards in Rancho Cucamonga, California. At this time, Brookside Winery was the largest vineyard holding company in the world.

1968

Brookside opened 36 retail stores in California, Arizona and Illinois.

1972

Beatrice Foods buys Brookside Vineyard Company. They ran the winery until 1982 when Beatrice Foods sells Brookside and all its vineyards, production facilities, and retail stores to a land developer. The Ontario International Airport and the Inland Empire was born.

2008

Tim Bacino, the sixth generation of the Vaché and Biane families, has a spiritual calling at 3am to resurrect his family’s tradition and legacy of winemaking. GEN 7 Wines is named for his daughter, Gabriella, the 7th generation of the Vaché/Biane family.
