History

1832

Theophile Vaché leaves France for California and establishes one of the first vineyards in the Vineyard District of San Benito.

1847

Theophile’s nephews, Aldolfe, Emile, and Theophile, join him and together they found a wine-importing business in downtown Los Angeles, California.

1892

The nephews move to Redlands, buy land next to a picturesque stream, and Brookside Winery is born.

1852

Brookside Winery purchases Segundo Gusti’s 4,000 acres of vineyards in Rancho Cucamonga, California.

1968

Brookside opened 36 retail stores in California, Arizona and Illinois.

1972

Beatrice Foods buys Brookside Vineyard Company. They ran the winery until they sold the inventory to zero and then in 1982 Beatrice Foods sells Brookside and its vineyards, production facilities, and retail stores.

2008

Tim Bacino, the sixth generation of the Vaché and Biane families, has a spiritual calling to resurrect his family’s tradition and legacy of winemaking. GEN 7 Wines is named for his daughter, Gabriella, the 7th generation of the Vaché family.
