2014 Best in Class Winner
Vibrant and intense floral Rosé of Syrah originates its journey from a estate in Dry Creek that practices the art of developing a high concentration of flavors from the fruit by slowly stressing the vine. The valley is formed by Dry Creek, a tributary of the Russian River, and is approximately 16 miles long and 2 miles wide. It is bordered by two mountain ranges: Mayacamas Mountains to the east and the Sonoma Mountains to the west. A wide disparity between valley floor and mountain soils, those found in flatter, valley areas tend to be quite fertile, loamy and have better water-retention while the soils at higher elevations are meager, rocky and well-drained. Sonoma Valley consists of 65,000 vineyard acres with 254 wineries. Its AVA was established in 1981.
