Vaché "1832" 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon
The explosion of fruit from this beautiful and elegant Cabernet came from an old private estate located on the west side of the Valley. Deep, dark ruby red in color foreshadows the intense flavors St. Helena produces. The ultimate in deep structure yet soft silky tannins.
On the nose you will pick up aromas of Bing cherry, currant, and blackberry fruit; cocoa, vanilla, and holiday spices. Intense blackberry, cassis, plum, and cherry; coffee, anise, and mineral; Those notes flow onto the palate as you indulge in your first sip. The flavors transition into more of a chocolatey cherry masterpiece. Full-bodied, with fresh acidity, silky tannins, and a rich mouth-feel are teasing you as you come to this velvety, soft, rich, long smooth finish. Incredible with grilled Rack of Lamb, Short Ribs, Ossobuco, or a Porter House Steak
The St. Helena AVA is an American Viticultural Area located within Napa Valley, centered on the town of St. Helena, California. The appellation covers 9,000 acres along the flat narrow land towards the northern end of the valley between the Vaca and Mayacamas Mountains. The amazing aspects of this AVA is the influence of the valley floor's heat index bringing intense and perfect ripening conditions during the day but the real magic is at night when the mountains cool the valley by a factor of 40 to 50 degrees drop in temperature. This cooling effect allows the fruit to become the perfect balance of acid and fruit development. The end result is world-class wine.
